The Bureau of Land Management, the Nevada Department of Agriculture and the Nevada Department of Corrections will put saddle-trained horses up for adoption February 22 in Carson City. The event will be at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center.

Fifteen wild horses from ranges on BLM-administered public lands in Nevada, Idaho, Oregon, and California will be offered for adoption. Viewing starts at 9 a.m., with the auction starting at 10:00. Opening bid on each horse is $150. The horses are four to five years old, are saddle-trained with at least 120 days of training, and vary in weight and color. They were trained at the NNCC by inmates in the Nevada Department of Corrections program.
